Tåg & buss – Train & Bus

Allmän information om lokaltåg och bussar i Menton med omnejd finns på tåg- respektive busstationen och (kanske enklare) på nätet, se www.ter-sncf.com/paca och www.tourisme-menton.fr/Horaire-des-Bus.html eller www.zestbus.fr. Vi ska förstås inte upprepa den informationen, men här kommer några kompletterande tips.

General information regarding local trains and buses around Menton can be found at the train station and the bus terminal or on the net, see www.ter-sncf.com/paca and www.tourisme-menton.fr/Horaire-des-Bus.html or www.zestbus.fr. We have no intention to repeat this information, but will give a few additional tips.

• Busstationen Gare Routiere ligger alldeles norr om järnvägen på Avenue de Sospel, där finns en info-expedition (med begränsade öppettider). Information finns också att få på Turistinformationen på 8 Avenue Boyer och på www.zestbus.fr.
• The bus terminal Gare Routiere, located north of the railway on Avenue de Sospel, has an information office with limited openinghours. You can also find information at the Tourist office on 8 Avenue Boyer and on www.zestbus.fr
• Alla bussar inom Alpes Maritime kostar 1,50€ om man betalar direkt på bussen (gäller ej flygbussen). För de lokala bussarna runt Menton finns också möjlighet att köpa rabatthäften för flera resor (ett häfte med 10 resor kostar 12,50 €), en-dagsbiljett (5 €) och 7-dagarsbiljett (13 €).
• The bus fare within Alpes Maritime is 1,50€ when you buy your ticket directly from the bus driver (not the Airport bus!). You can also buy discounted multiple tickets for the local buses around Menton (10 fares cost 12,50 €), a one-day ticket (5 €) or a 7-days ticket (13 €).
  
• Buss nr 100 går nedre kustvägen till Monaco och Nice via Roquebrune mm, flera gånger per timme. Många av bergsbyarna ovanför Menton nås lätt med andra bussar. Det finns en bra karta över lokala busslinjer både på nätet och på expeditionerna vid Gare Routiere.
• Bus 100 follows the coast through Monaco to Nice, several times per hour. The villages up in the mountains above Menton can be reached with other buses. On the net or in the information offices, you can find a good map covering all the local bus lines.
  
• Notera att buss 100 (till Nice) och 110 (flygbussen) trafikeras av en separata operatörer, se www.lignesdazur.com och www.niceairportxpress.com. Deras exedition finns tvärs över gatan väster om Zests kontor vid Gare Routiere.
• Note that buses 100 (to Nice) and 110 (Airport Shuttle) are operated by separate companies, see www.lignesdazur.com and www.niceairportxpress.com. Their info office is situated west across the street from the Zest office at Gare Routiere.
• I Menton finns två tågstationer, Gare de Menton och Gare de Garavan. Litet längre västerut mot Roquebrune ligger också Gare de Carnoles.
• Menton has two train stations, Gare de Menton and Gare de Garavan. Further west towards Roquebrune there is also the station Gare de Carnoles.
• Tågbiljetter kan köpas med kredit/betalkort med chip i en automat (och manuellt om kassorna är bemannade). Notera att biljetten sedan måste stämplas i en speciell gul liten apparat för att bli giltig.
• Train tickets can be bought with credit card (with microchip) in a ticket machine, as well as manually if a cashier happens to be present. Note that the ticket, in order to be valid, has to be stamped in a special little yellow machine.
• Till och från flygplatsen i Nice kan man enkelt åka flygbuss eller tåg (om man inte tar taxi eller åker lokalbuss med byte i centrala Nice).
• To and from the airport in Nice you can take the airportexpress bus or the train (if you do not prefer taxi or the local bus with transit in Nice city).
• Flygbussen nr 110 går mellan flygterminalen och Menton Gare Routiere, via Monaco. Till den måste man köpa biljetter i expeditionen utanför bussterminalen. Info och tider finns på www.niceairportxpress.com.
• Airportexpress bus no 110 runs between the terminal and Menton Gare Routiere via Monaco.Tickets are bought in the office outside the bus terminal (not from the driver). Information and time tables are found on www.niceairportxpress.com.
• 10-15 minuters promenad från flygplatsen i Nice finns tågstationen Nice St Augustin på Avenue Edouard Grinda (sök på Nice St Augustin train station på t.ex. maps.google.com). Tågresan till Menton tar ca 45 minuter.
• The train station Nice St Augustin is located 10-15 minutes by walk from the terminal, on Avenue Edouard Grinda (look for Nice St Augustin train station on e.g. maps.google.com). The train to Menton takes appr 45 minutes.
• Till Ventimiglia tar man gärna tåg, speciellt på fredagar = marknadsdag då det är risk för köer och ont om parkeringsplatser (om man inte är morgontidig, förstås).
• Ventimiglia is preferably reached by train, at least on Fridays = market days when the streets can be congested and parking hard to find (if you are not very early).
• Det går också en italiensk buss linea 1 mellan övre gränsstationen Ponte San Luigi och Ventimiglia, under vinterhalvåret endast vardagar men antagligen även helger under juni-september. Det är ca 3 km att gå från centrala Menton längs Boulevard de Garavan eller längs strandpromenaden till busshållplatsen.Tidtabell till denna buss och många andra kring Ventimiglia finns på: http://www.rivieratrasporti.it/ShowOrari.asp, ladda ner tabellerna genom att klicka på ”Orario generale” (feriale betyder vardag, festivo betyder helgdag).
• The Italian bus linea 1 from Ponte San Luigi at the other side of the boarder can also be an alternative to Ventimiglia. During winter it is only in service on weekdays but June-September probably also on weekends. The distance from Menton centre to Ponte San Luigi is appr 3 km. Find the time table to this, and other Ventimiglia buses, on http://www.rivieratrasporti.it/ShowOrari.asp. Download the intineraries by clicking ”Orario generale” (feriale means weekdays, festivo means holidays).
  
• Från Ventimiglia tar man sig lätt österut längs kusten med tåg eller buss, bl.a. till Bordighera och San Remo. Information finns ovan (bussar) och t.ex. på Ventimiglias tågstation.
• From Ventimiglia you can take the train or bus east along the coast to places like Bordighera and San Remo. Information can be found above (buses) and e.g. at the train station in Ventimiglia.
  
• Från Ventimiglia kan man också ta tåget norrut mot Tende, Limone, Cuneo etc.
• From Ventimiglia you can also go by train north to Tende, Limone, Cuneo etc.
• Om man vill åka västerut till Nice eller orterna längs kusten på vägen (Roquebrune, Cap Martin, Monaco, Cap d’Ail, Eze, Beaulieu, Villefranche) kan man ta tåg eller buss 100 (billigare). Tåget fortsätter också vidare förbi Nice mot Cannes, Grasse, Marseille mm.
• If you want to visit Nice or other places to the west (Roquebrune, Cap Martin, Monaco, Cap d’Ail, Eze, Beaulieu, Villefrance) you can either take the train or (less expensive) bus no 100. The train continues past Nice to Cannes, Grasse, Marseille etc.
• Det händer tyvärr ibland att tågen inte går som de ska pga strejk. Inte sällan är strejkerna välplanerade och information finns i förväg på nätet, www.ter-sncf.com/paca. Annars möts man av beskedet ”greve” på stationen.
• Unfortunately the trains sometimes stop because of strike. These strikes are quite often well planned in advance and information is given on, www.ter-sncf.com/paca. If not, you will see a sign “greve” at the railway station.
