Ristorante Pasta & Basta, Ventimiglia

Det kan vara trevligt med variation även när det gäller restauranger, så vi försöker hitta nya då och då. Här kommer en liten blänkare om en restaurang som är en ny erfarenhet för mig.

Den får bra betyg på olika rating-sidor, vi har hört många berätta om den och den är fint belägen vid havet nedanför den gamla staden. Till slut besökte därför även vi Pasta & Basta i Ventimiglia.Som framgår av namnet är det framförallt för pastans skull man går till den här restaurangen. Här lämnas inget åt slumpen när det gäller spagetti, tagliatelle, ravioli, fettuccine, penne, gnocchi och allt vad det nu heter.

På Pasta & Basta möts gästerna av en pedagogisk presentation av olika pastasorter. Sen är det bara att välja sås i valfri kombination med pasta. Bra koncept! Hur många gånger jag än besöker italienska matställen så blandar jag ändå då och då ihop sorterna. Det kan ju vara snopet att få strozzapreti när man egentligen vill ha trofie, eller hur?!

Vi valde att äta just strozzapreti med mozzarella, tomat och aubergine respektive tagliolini med vongole. Det var riktigt gott även om det kanske inte var gudomligt oförglömligt.

Nåja, personalen var trevlig, matsalen är snygg och utsikten kommer snart att bli fantastisk – bara den nya hamnen blir färdigbyggd och planket mot havet tas bort.

Vi kommer säkert att åka tillbaka till Pasta & Basta.

It can be nice with variation even when it comes to restaurants, and we try to find new ones now and then. This is brief info about a restaurant which is a new experience for me.

They receive good grades in a number of rating pages, we have heard a lot of people talking about them and they are nicely located by the sea at the bottom of the old town. Consequently and finally, we visited Pasta & Basta in Ventimiglia.

As the name implies, it is mainly for the pasta that you go to this restaurant. Here, nothing is left to chance when it comes to spaghetti, tagliatelle, ravioli, fettuccine, penne, gnocchi, and whatever it’s called.

Pasta & Basta welcome their guests with an educational presentation of different pasta varieties. Then it’s up to us to choose sauce in any combination with pasta. Great concept! No matter how many times I visit Italian restaurants, I still occasionally mix up the varieties. It may be confusing to get strozzapreti when you really want trofie, right?!

We chose to eat one plate of strozzapreti with mozzarella, tomato and eggplant and another with tagliolini and vongole. It was really good even though perhaps not divinely unforgettable.

Well, the staff was friendly, the dining room is comfortable and the view will evidently be fantastic – as soon as the construction of the new port is finished and the fence towards the sea is removed.

We will most probably return to Pasta & Basta.
